4 Compete For Third Congressional District Seat 

U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips is up for re-election in Minnesota Congressional District 3.

Wayzata is located in Congressional District 3.                  

Phillips will be challenged in the August 11 primary by fellow Democrat Cole Young.

Meanwhile, Republicans Leslie Davis and Kendall Qualls will square off in the primary.

Wayzata Mayor Ken Willcox has announced he will not seek re-election this fall.

3 Wayzata City Council Seats Up In 2020

Three members of the Wayzata city council are up for re-election in November: Mayor Ken Willcox, council member Dan Koch and council member Alex Plechash.

Willcox was elected mayor in 2008 after serving on the city council and the city planning commission. He ran unopposed in 2008, 2012 and 2016. He told that he is "undecided" as to whether he will run again for mayor in 2020.

Council members Koch and Plechash are currently in their first four-year term. Both ran unopposed in 2016.

Pleschash told that he intends to run for re-election this year. And so did Koch.
