The Wayzata girls basketball team eliminated Armstrong 69-41 in the quarterfinals of the Section 6AAAA tournament Tuesday night. The Trojans led 27-16 at halftime with Jenna Johnson scoring 12 Wayzata points. Savannah McGowan scored 13 of the Falcons 16 first half points.
The Trojans used a balanced scoring attack to slowly pull away in the second half. Johnson led the Trojans in scoring with 29 points but three other Wayzata players netted at least nine points. McGowan finished the night with 27 points as the Falcons finish the season with a 3-11 record. Wayzata (10-6) hosts St. Louis Park in the section semifinals Friday night at 7:30.
