It was supposed to be a dream come true and instead it was slipping into a nightmare for the young Minnesota high schooler.

Out for his Saturday-morning run in a Twin Cities suburb, Tony Cameranesi returned home to find out he had been selected 130th overall by the Maple Leafs and was about to make the mad dash to the Xcel Energy Center to meet his new employers.

“I had to change really quickly and for some reason, I couldn’t find my dress pants,” Cameranesi said before speeding to the rink in the 25 or so minutes it takes from his home. “It took a little longer than usual.”
