2011 STATE OF THE CITY LUNCHEON
The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the 2011 State of the City Luncheon on March 24 at Wayzata Country Club.
Mayor Willcox will share updates on various projects and happenings in Wayzata as well as other pertinent information. This presentation is for business professionals and residents alike.
Ken Willcox was raised in Southwest Minneapolis and graduated from Blake School. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, and his MBA from the University of Minnesota.
For the past couple of decades, he and a partner have owned and operated two manufacturing companies. The production facilities are located in Waseca, Minnesota. They have offices in Edina. The companies manufacturer equipment for the trucking industry. Delta Waseca, Inc., manufactures dry freight and refrigerated truck van bodies and trailers. Tartan Transportation Systems, Inc., manufactures specialty air suspensions for high value, sensitive semi-trailer applications.
Ken’s community involvement includes many years of service with the Twin Cities United Way. He served on their Board of Directors and was head of Community Services, Initiatives and Allocations. For that involvement he was given WCCO’s Good Neighbor Award.
He was appointed to the Wayzata Planning Commission in 2001. He served on that body until being elected to the City Council in 2004. He was elected Wayzata mayor in November 2008.
Ken is married to Winnie, whose career is focused in retail marketing and consumer start up companies.
