This spring has seen a tremendous surge in community spirit and volunteerism in Wayzata. First came the overwhelming celebration of the new Muni.
Then on a May Saturday, roughly 100 volunteers planted our city gardens. Others adopted additional gardens they will tend all summer. Meanwhile Dan Dorland led an Eagle Scout project of volunteers who spent the weekend in the rain extracting weeds from the Wayzata Big Woods. While they were doing that, the Wayzata Football Team was clearing undergrowth at the nature preserve by the Boardwalk apartments.
It’s people and events like that that create the character of a community. Thanks to our hard working and talented volunteers, ours seems to be in fine shape.
