Lake Street has been a disaster area for many month during the installation of the Metropolitan Council's sewer main an utility work. Additionally, the realignment of Superior Boulevard has only complicated the issue, and made for hectic driving up and down the historic street that is the heart of the Wayzata downtown area.

Now, workers are putting the finishing touches on the project, including wiring the new lamp posts, sealing the new concrete, and more. With the final layer of asphalt going down earlier this week, all Wayzata residents and merchants can say is, 'Thank God that is over!'
