Mammo a-go-go, a portable mammogram unit on wheels.
The third annual Be Pink Wayzata initiative started this morning at the Wayzata Country Club with approximately 275 people in attendance.
The annual event is now in it's third year and is presented by Park Nicollet. Proceeds from the fundraising help to pay for a portable mammogram unit for women who cannot afford to pay for the service.
The program is the brain child of Wayzata City Councilman Andrew Mullin, who's mother had a brush with breast cancer and survived. Mullin detailed the story on WCCO AM 830 with all around good guy Dave Lee broadcasting live for the morning show from the event. You can see listed a number of the podcasts of the show here: http://goo.gl/NCxhvG. Guests included Gina Holman and Becky Pierson, to name a few.
Many business around town are also participating in the event by giving a portion of the proceeds from their sales to the cause, including Chico's, the Wayzata Bar & Grill, Schuler Shoes, and others. To donate funds, please visit this link: https://pnfoundation.parknicollet.com/donatetobepink
