The Wayzata Planning Commission recommended denial for a proposal by Doran Companies to develop 19 condos on Barry Avenue on 3 lots owned by Lowell Zitzloff. The Commission cited too much density on the northern two lots, which are presently zoned for single-family and small-scale residential projects.
Panoway Phase II (south of the tracks) is underway, and Conservancy Chair Andrew Mullin announced a $5 million capital campaign to complement a recent $4 million grant received from the State of Minnesota. Boardwalk construction and shoreline restoration are the highest priorities for the City, as discussed during a recent City Council workshop. Progress is also being made on the Section Foreman House application for the National Register of Historic Places. Other projects will be phased as funds are available.
