Stars N’ Stripes: The All-American Get Together scheduled for September 10 and 11, 2011

Along the shores of Lake Minnetonka the Wayzata area community gathers to celebrate the 37th Annual James J. Hill Days, presented by The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce and M&I, a part of BMO Financial Group.  Combining community tradition with fun filled activities and events the festival provides something for the whole family.  This year’s theme is “Stars N’ Stripes: The All-American Get Together”!

Since 1975 the weekend following Labor Day in Wayzata has been dedicated to celebrating this community tradition.

This year’s great line-up of activities promises to attract over 5,000 area community members.  Many traditional activities will return including the Arts Bazaar sponsored by Renewal by Anderson, the Health and Wellness Expo sponsored by The Brost Clinic, Business Expo, Coaster Cart Derby sponsored by Youngstedts Goodyear, Dachshund Races, and Kids Carnival.  Additional benefactors include Wayzata BP and Folkestone Senior Living Community. And if that’s not enough the Wayzata Rotary Charity Auto Show and the James J. Hill Days Parade are also part of the festivities.

Dachshunds from across the Twin Cities gather Saturday afternoon to compete in the 27th annual Dachshund Races followed by the Pet Tricks and Costume Contest.  Sprinting, hurdling and jumping their way to success these power-pooches show off their speed, skill, and style in an adorable presentation no pet-lover would want to miss!
