Police Chief Mike Risvold and McGruff the Crime Dog invite you to Night 2 Unite.

For 29 years, the Wayzata Police and Fire Departments, the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition, and the citizens of Wayzata have recognized crime prevention and public safety in the City of Wayzata on the first Tuesday in August. This year, Minnesota Night to Unite kicks off at noon on Tuesday, August 2 with the annual Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition’s Night to Unite Luncheon at the Wayzata Country Club. This is a joint luncheon with the Wayzata Chamber of Commerce and the Wayzata Rotary. The keynote speaker is Wayzata Police Chief Mike Risvold. He will provide an inside look at the department and highlight some of the most significant, and sometimes “bizarre,” cases investigated within the past year. The public is invited. Tickets for the luncheon are $20 and can be purchased through the Wayzata Chamber of Commerce at 952-473-9595.

Later in the day, Wayzata Police, Fire, City staff, elected officials, and McGruff (Crime Coalition Mascot) will visit two-dozen neighborhood parties throughout Wayzata and Long Lake. Along with the police cars and fire trucks, there will be trinkets for kids and a crime prevention message at each stop. This is always a great time to ask questions of elected officials, police officers, firefighters, and city staff. It’s also a great way to get out, meet and visit with your neighbors. Call the Wayzata Police Department at 952-404-5340 for more information about Wayzata’s Night to Unite.
