“Start your Fourth of July off with Wayzata Flying Pancake Breakfast! Bring your family and friends to the 11th annual Revolutionary “Flying Pancake” Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Depot Park. Join this festive celebration for all ages as guests try to catch pancakes tossed from the griddle and watch revolutionary soldiers perform. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, cold drink and a free flag. Cost for breakfast is $6 per person. Veterans and active service members eat free. The event is sponsored by the Lake Minnetonka chapter of the Children of the American Revolution.”

“The 56th annual Broadway Kiddie Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on the corner of Park Street and Broadway Avenue. Every year the Kiddie Parade kicks off with the Wayzata Fire Department driving the “Grandmother of the Year” in the WFD’s vintage fire truck, the “Wilcox” (no relation to Mayor Willcox). Free balloons, lemonade, popsicles, and face painting will be available. Kids need to be accompanied by parent or guardian in order to participate. Please do not bring any battery operated or motorized vehicles to the event.”

“The Wayzata Fire Department will once again sponsor the 44th annual Mini Olympics for kids at the Wayzata West Middle School football field at 12:30 p.m. The events for youth ages 5-12 include a softball throw, running races and the running broad jump. Events for children four and under include running races and penny hunting. All children will leave with a ribbon.”
