Lutheran Basketball team finishes tournament season

Several boys from area Lutheran schools in Mayer, Howard Lake, Glencoe, and Wayzata competed in Minnesota Youth Athletic Services tournaments this spring. Known as the Christian Boys Basketball/New Germany Fire Department Flames, the team compiled a record of 8-8 in five tournaments, going 6-1 against Division III teams and 2-7 in Division II competition. They placed first in one tournament at Irondale May 14-15 and second in two others. Team members are: front - Matt McKevitt, Ben Quiram, Chris Zander, Zach Thole, Coach Chris Thole; back - Brady Malberg, Shane Ehrke, Mason Ahlbrecht, Rhett Kovar, and Sterling Sibley.
