Fr. Steve Ulrick has served as pastor at the Nativity of Mary in Bloomington for six years. In coming to HNOJ, Fr. Ulrick--who grew up in Mound--returns to his roots in the western suburbs. He left Mound in 1974 to begin studies at St. John Vianney Seminary, the University of St. Thomas, and the St. Paul Seminary. Fr. Ulrick was ordained a priest in 1982 and has served in a variety of parishes for the past 29 years. Along with his experience as pastor, Fr. Ulrick has served as chaplain at United/Children's Hospitals, as well as on the board of directors for St. Francis Regional Medical Center. He is currently on the board of directors for St. Gertrude's Health & Rehabilitation Center.

"I am looking forward with great excitement to July 1, when I begin as pastor of Holy Name of Jesus," Fr. Ulrick said. "I have visited the parish many times and have been impressed with the different expressions of life and service which flow from the Eucharist. It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of great priests such as Fr. Arnold [Weber, pastor at HNOJ from 1981 to 2003] and Fr. Tim, as I have admired both of these men and their service to Christ and His Church."
