Crime Alert: Burglaries

The western metro area continues to experience an abnormally high number of burglaries. Although we have not had any burglaries reported in Wayzata or Long Lake in the past month, other west metro municipalities, including Lake Minnetonka area cities, are experiencing many. This alert is a reminder to remain vigilant in the following areas:

  • If you have an alarm system on your home, use it.
  • Lock your doors when you leave home.
  • Lock your doors when you go to bed at night.
  • Watch out for your neighbors.
  • If you see something suspicious, report it immediately. No call to police is a foolish call.

Report any suspicious activity to the Wayzata Police Department by dialing 911.
