Wayzata Women's Chorus to Perform December 11-12

The Wayzata Women’s Chorus will be celebrating the holidays with two lively musical events on Saturday, December 11th & Sunday, December 12th. This Christmas season, they will be featuring five pieces written by England’s famous composer, John Rutter--“Deck the Hall“, “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day“, and “Shepherd‘s Pipe Carol“ to name a few.. The chorus will also sing three pieces they prepared for audition for the Eistedfod Competition in Wales to be held next summer.

On Saturday, December 11th, its 25th Annual Holiday concert will be presented at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Ave NE in St Anthony, MN at 4:00 p.m.

On Sunday, December 12th, there will be a repeat performance of the concert at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2060 County Road 6, Long Lake, MN at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served at both performances.

The chorus is directed by Carole Birch and accompanied by Mary Fadden.

Founded in 1985, this award-winning chorus is composed of women of many ages who share a love of music and enjoy performing in a variety of venues. The chorus is well respected for the depth of their repertoire. They attained the Bronze Level at the Salzburg, Austria Choral Competition in 1995 and participated in the North Carolina Music Festival in 1997. In June 2006, they performed in the Southern New England Music Festival in Boston.
