Your Wayzata Trojans (11-0) defeated the Rosemount Irish (12-1) in the 2010 Class 5A Prep Bowl at the Metrodome tonight 31 - 14. Trojan Sophomore running back Mitch Underhill scored four touchdowns for Wayzata from 45 yards, 58 yards, 65 yards, and 58 yards respectively. He carried the ball 12 times for a total of 247 yards. The first of Underhill's touch downs came on the 2nd play of the game, and he continued his prolific scoring with 3 scores in the second half.

Head Coach Brad Anderson commented after the game, "When we won our first, that was special because we were in that group of teams that had won a state title.  I thought that 2008, that proved the first one wasn't a fluke, it wasn't just a group of players that went through here but rather a program.  Now having won our third, that means that means we belong with the better teams in the state."

Anderson talked about sophomore Mitch Underhill's performance during the game, "Mitch is a very humble person.  He'll be the first to give his offensive line credit.  The other thing about his is that he is an unbelievably talented athlete.  He is an incredible downhill skier, we are very fortunate that he is playing football.  He's got great balance, great determination.  For a guy who isn't very big, he's pretty strong too.  I know he would give his offensive line credit, but he made those runs as well."

Wayzata's offense had 10 first downs, 300 rushing yards, and 50 passing yards for 350 yards of total offense.  Trojan QB Sasha Doran went 7-14 for 50 yards passing.

Underhill carried 12 times for 247 yards, and 4 touchdowns.  His average yards per carry during the game was 20.6. Aaron Roth carried 7 times for 21 yards, Erik Roti carried 3 times for 12 yards, Blake Hallenberg went 3 for 14, and Jeff Borchardt carried 2 for 7.

Roth had 2 catches for 14 yards: Underhill had 1 for 9, Patrick Nelson 1 - 9, Zach Muller 1 - 8, Michael Borillo 1 - 7, Tanner Helgren 1 - 3.

Defensively, Kit Snyder led Wayzata with 6 tackles, Ryan Poppitz and Chris Wipson had 6 each.  Colin Lindquist had 5, David Boegel and Jack Vettel each had 4, Soctt Siegel and Adam Moench had 3 a piece.

The Trojans defense gave up only 2 touch downs, 12 first downs, 129 yards rushing, 60 yards passing, and 189 total offensive yards.
