OBITUARY: Evonne Arndt

Arndt (Tessmer), Evonne Ella
age 65, of Plymouth and Lake Kabetogama, MN, passed away at home Tuesday surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 29, 1945 in Gaylord, MN to Gerhard and Ella (Lindeman) Tessmer, Evonne is survived by her adoring husband of 43 years, Edward; son, Daniel (Tara); daughter, Claudine (Michael McCloskey); mother, Ella Neubarth; brothers, Mike Tessmer and Joe Tessmer (Fern Dahlke), and many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Gerhard Tessmer, and her dear sister, Janice Dixon.

Evonne graduated from nursing school in 1964 and worked as a nurse for over 10 years before becoming an extraordinary full-time mom and wife; she was a master in the art of caring for others, both people and animals.

Evonne enjoyed gardening, growing fantastic orchids and lady slippers, bowling (we loved the special "hop" in her delivery), and spending summers at the cabin.

An impressive fisherwoman (she often out-fished Ed), Evonne enjoyed sharing Lake Kabetogama with family and friends. Evonne found great joy in feeding and admiring birds, organizing lunches with high-school classmates and friends, cheering for the Minnesota Twins and Gophers Men's and Women's basketball teams, and following high school girls' and boys' state basketball tournaments.

We already miss her brilliant smile, twinkling eyes, and mischievous sense of humor, but we take comfort knowing she is resting peacefully.

Visitation 4-7 PM Sunday, November 28 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata and also one hour prior to the service on Monday, November 29 11 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley.

Interment at High Island Cemetery, New Auburn, MN.

Memorials preferred to Pay It Forward Fund, an organization supporting women with cancer.
