Wayzata Community Sailing Center uses social media to report live results

The Wayzata Community Sailing Center has embraced social media technology to provide live feeds of photos, video and commentary right from the water during sailing events.

The Race Committee and Marketing Team first provided live updates during the Minnesota High School Co-Ed Championship, where the Wayzata team of Elise Gehling and Sierra Sands placed third on May 30.

By using media tools such as Cover-it-live, Twitter and Twitpic the WCSC is able to provide move-by-move updates and race results throughout the day.

Due to positive feedback, the WCSC will now provide live feeds during all major regattas. During the race, the live feeds can be viewed on www.wayzatasailing.org.

To receive updates from the sailing center via Twitter, follow 'Wayzatasailing'.
