Seemingly abandoned Shell station still provides gas to customers

As the redevelopment of the Wayzata Bay Center pans out, businesses currently located in the center must decide whether to stay or go.

Youngstedt's Wayzata Goodyear was looking to relocate to the Shell station on Wayzata Boulevard in 2008, causing the Shell station to shut down mid-fall, according to City Planner Bryan Gadow. This explains the current state of the gas station, a seemingly abandoned convenience store with working gas pumps.

According to Gadow, VIP Car Wash and Auto Service began running the station again when approval for Youngstedts to move to the Shell station was denied. Presently, Gadow does not know if VIP will redevelop the convenience store as part of the gas station, however, residents will still be able to fill up at the gas pumps.
