Wayzata senior Matt Ferro won $1,000 for his entry in the Rock the Belt TV commercial contest, a contest more than 75 Minnesota teenagers entered advocating the use of seat belts to other teenagers.
Ferro, who plans to study film at Emerson College in Boston, said he had never made a 30-second video spot before and chose to enter the contest because he wanted to challenge himself and try something different.
His winning entry, titled “Nothing Can Replace A Life” will be featured on the following programs on June 4:
KARE 6 p.m. newscast
KSTP 6 p.m. newscast
Fox 5:30 p.m. newscast
WCCO 6 p.m. newscast
