WAYZATA SOFTBALL 2009: Trojans Alive in Losers Bracket

The Wayzata softball team lost in the semifinals of the section 6AAA winners bracket on Friday afternoon, but is still alive in the double elimination tournament.

After a 2-0 loss to Hopkins, the Trojans bounced back to defeat Park Center 3-2 later in the afternoon. Sophomore Anna Gustafson drove in a pair of runs with a double. Senior Anna Twinem had a pair of doubles and an RBI. Senior Allie Siu raised her team-high batting average to .451 with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate.

The team will now face Edina in an elimination game at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Hopkins and Richfield—the top two seeds—will play in the winners bracket final.
