Wayzata High School Student Swims at National Championship

From Wayzata Public Schools:

Wayzata High School sophomore Sarah Urke placed 23rd in a solo event at the 2009 U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Championship at Stanford University held April 29-May 7.

Urke is the first non-collegiate athlete representing a Minnesota club to qualify and compete at this event.

She also placed 12th in a solo event at the U.S. junior championship held in Seattle, Washington, and placed 16th with a duet routine.

Urke was recently selected to participate in the Phase 3 Junior National Team Trials. She is a member of the Minnesota Synchronettes and has competed with the Wayzata High School varsity synchronized swimming program coached by Signe Hensel.
