American Red Cross Certified Babysitter's Training Course

The American Red Cross Twin Cities Chapter will hold a Babysitter's Training Course Saturday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wayzata Fire Department, 600 Rice St., Wayzata.

According to the American Red Cross Web site, the national Babysitter's Training certification course prepares youth ages 11-15 to safely and responsibly care for themselves and/or other children in the absence of parents or guardians. Youth will learn important skills in four core areas: leadership and professionalism, safety and safe play, basic care for infants and children, and first aid. The course fee of $65 includes a Babysitter's Handbook.

Students must be 11-years-old by the day of the class.

Students should bring a bag lunch to class for a lunch break.
