WAYZATA PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Spend a virtual spring break in France with WHS French teacher

From Wayzata Public Schools:

For the first time in Wayzata High School travel abroad programs, WHS French 4 and AP French teacher Larry Tuura will be posting pictures and logging the daily activities of the 11 students traveling in France over spring break this year.

Tuura will be using his iPhone to make posts to the following blog site hosted by Wayzata Public Schools: Blog Link

The WHS students will spend the first weekend in Paris where Tuura will guide them through the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs-Elysées, the Eiffel Tower and many other sites. On Sunday the group will take the train to Tours where they will stay with the families of the students they hosted in the fall. While in Tours, the students will visit a French high school, attend a French cooking class, visit two of the chateaux of the Loire valley as well as other cultural sites.

This is the second half of the exchange program which was established between the two high schools in the 2008-2009 school-year by Sophie Rousseau, an English teacher at Saint Gregoire High School in France and Larry Tuura in the interest of establishing an ongoing contact between the schools to improve the students language abilities and cultural understanding

Last October and November, 10 students from Saint Grégoire High School and Rousseau, spent two weeks with students and their families at WHS. During their stay, the students had a chance to practice their English, visit cultural and historical sites in the Twin Cities and take part in typical American activities such as a high school football game and a Halloween haunted house.
