WAYZATA BOYS HOCKEY 2009: Trojans Seeded Third in Section 6AA

The Wayzata boys hockey team will enter the section 6AA tournament this week as the number three seed. The Trojans will face the sixth seeded Armstrong Falcons in one of four quarterfinal games at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Plymouth Ice Arena.

The brackets for section 6AA look like this:

(1) Eden Prairie
(8/9) Winner of Minneapolis East and Minneapolis West

(4) Benilde-St. Margaret's
(5) Hopkins

(3) Wayzata
(6) Robbinsdale Armstrong

(2) Minnetonka
(7) Robbinsdale Cooper

All quarterfinal games will be played on Feb. 26. The two semifinal games will be played on Saturday, Feb. 28 at either Braemar Arena in Edina or the Bloomington Ice Garden. The section final will be played on March 5 at Mariucci Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The Trojans know their first round opponents well as they have played the Falcons twice in past three weeks. The Trojans beat the Falcons 5-2 on Feb. 5 and then capped the regular season with a 4-2 victory over the Falcons on Feb. 21.
