WAYZATA ATHLETICS 2009: The Latest State Rankings

The latest high school basketball and hockey rankings are out and two Wayzata teams are included.

The Trojans' boys basketball team is currently ranked 8th in class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News. The teams ranked ahead of the Trojans are 1. Hopkins 2. Henry Sibley 3. St. Cloud Tech 4. Robbinsdale Cooper 5. Osseo 6. Eden Prairie 7. Lakeville North.

The Trojans' boys hockey team is ranked 12th in class 2A by Lets Play Hockey. The top five teams in this week's poll are 1. Eden Prairie 2. Bloomington Jefferson 3. Edina 4. Duluth East 5. Maple Grove.

The Trojans' girls basketball is not ranked, however, the Trojans have recently defeated two teams that are. The Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons are currently ranked 3rd in class 4A. The Trojans defeated the Falcons 53-38 less than two weeks ago on Jan. 30. Minneapolis North is ranked 10th in class 3A. The Trojans defeated the Polars 62-48 just two days ago on Feb. 10.
