WAYZATA FOOTBALL 2008: MSBN will Internet Broadcast Trojans vs Rosemount

WEST ST. PAUL, MN; The Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network announces today that the network will be broadcasting all 12 state football semifinal match-ups live from the Metrodome in Minneapolis November 14 and 15. This marks the second straight year that MSBN will be bringing extensive coverage of the state semifinals, as MSBN broadcast all 12 semifinal match-ups last year as well. Each of the 12 games can be heard online at MSBN’s website, www.mnsportsnetwork.com. The winners of each of the 12 games will move on to the 2008 Prep Bowl, which MSBN will also broadcast on November 28 and 29.

When the state football tournament is concluded at the end of the day on November 29, the Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network will have concluded its football broadcast schedule, having broadcast 110 high school football games live throughout the course of the fall.

8:15: State 5A Semifinal: Rosemount (11-1) vs. Wayzata (11-0): In the final game of the Minnesota state football semifinals, the Rosemount Irish will face the Wayzata Trojans from the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Irish are in the state football tournament for the fifth time, with the last coming in 2006. They have one Prep Bowl title, coming back in 1981. Wayzata, meanwhile, is making their eighth state tournament appearance, including their second straight appearance and their fourth appearance in five years. Included in their appearances is one state title, defeating Cretin-Derham Hall 28-24 in 2005, and one runner-up, losing to Minnetonka, 23-14 in 2004. Both these teams are in the semifinals after posting shutout victories in the quarterfinals, with Rosemount shutting out Mounds View 12-0, and Wayzata shutting out St. Cloud Tech, 38-0. Joe Michaels will call the play-by-play, with Jon Wekkin providing color commentary.
