"Wayzata is the best high school football team in the state." - Dean Spiros, Star Tribune

The Star Tribune this morning confirms what we in the Wayzata community have been speculating since before the football season began: It appears that the Wayzata Football Trojans will be ranked #1 in the Metro Top poll when it is released on Tuesday. Dean Spiros, Prep Beat Writer for the Strib was in attendance last night and has a huge feature in the Sports section this morning.

He opened his feature game article by saying, "Wayzata is the best high school football team in the state." Spiros goes onto to say, "Wayzata (6-0) with its stable of running backs, gifted wide receivers, solid quarterback play and tenacious defense, boasts the kind of size, speed, skill and depth that championship teams are made of."

Coach Brad Anderson kept it all in perspective, "We have a whole season left to go."
