The National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists for Wayzata High School’s class of 2009 have been named

This year’s semi-finalists are Shivani Bhatt, Lu Chen, Minna Chen, Nancy Chen, John Hawthorne, Andrew Heiring, Richard Hermann, Lucy Hesby, Constantine Kifalu, Katie Menk, Arpit Panda, Francesca Parente, Noah Rosenthal, Anton Strezhnev and Samuel Whitehead.
Students qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program by taking the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifing Test.

This year, Anton Strezhnev was the only student in Minnesota to earn a perfect score on the PSAT.

These students will continue in the National Merit program and will be candidates to receive a scholarship from the program. The scholarships will be announced next spring.
