Elisha and Lexus Take in the View on Wayzata Bay

Elisha and Lexus, pictured left to right, take in the wonderful views of Wayzata Bay this week. This took place at the intersection of Lake and Broadway on Sunday.

They were not the only ones as scores of people were out walking, biking, and boating with the recent increase in temperature and the ice coming off of Lake Minnetonka.

Live Music on Lake Street

This is a scene you don't see very often in Wayzata, so it is a rare treat when the sun is out, the temperature is warm, and live music is provided to serenade tourists and passersby in downtown Wayzata.
This was part of the Makeover Madness at E Salon that provided makeover services to worthy volunteers.

Sittin' On the Dock of the Wayzata Bay

Saw this woman sitting on the dock of Wayzata Bay, and Otis Redding came to mind.

(SITTIN' ON) THE DOCK OF THE BAY- written by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper- lyrics as recorded by Otis Redding December 7, 1967, just threedays before his death in a plane crash outside Madison, Wisconsin- #1 for 4 weeks in 1968

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

A Stroll in Wayzata

It was a wonderfully Sunday, with everyone enjoying themselves. People were basking in the sun, patrons sat outside eating lunches and sipping cool drinks at Wayzata restaurants. The swarm of people enjoying the day down by the lake was in stark contrast to the empty parking lots at the Wayzata Bay Center, and up the hill at Superior and Wayzata Boulevard. This young couple was obviously enjoying the warm temperatures, the rays of sunshine and the breeze off the lake. They walked towards Elisha, Lexus and I as we sat overlooking Wayzata Bay on a park bench.

Another Beautiful Day in Downtown Wayzata

Elisha and I spent another wonderful day walking Lake Street in Wayzata this afternoon. The sun was out, the temperature was 68 degrees, couples young and old, canine companions were just a few of the sights and sounds. One very different thing over last week was the large handful of sailboats, cruisers, runabouts and classic boats that were zipping across Wayzata Bay / Lake Minnetonka.
