The Wayzata City Council has approved a new water treatment plant to replace the 47 year old existing treatment system. Plans include a 500,000 gallon underground storage tank and new filter. The system is estimated to cost $4.4 million and will raise water utility rates by 9%. Part of the revenue to the tune of $1 million will be derived from Tax Increment Financing from completed development projects. Check for more information.
